The development of the Russian part of the BOLSHOY USSURIYSKY ISLAND
By the Russian-Chinese Agreement dated October 14th, 2008 and as a result of the demarcation of the state border, Big Ussuriysky Island (hereinafter referred to as the Island) was divided into 2 parts: the Chinese (Heissiazdao) and the Russian.
Total area - 254 square km (25,400 ha):
- the Russian part with the adjacent islands - 167.9 square km (16797.07 hectares).
- Chinese part - 86 square km (8600 hectares).
The direction of development of the Island is defined as an international tourism and recreations, congress and exhibition activities. Given the cross-border nature of the territory, the project is being implemented in the format of "One Island - Two Countries".
The Ministry of the Development of the Russian Far East supervises the project.
In accordance with the Concept for the Development of the Russian Part of the Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island, developed by the Ministry of the Development of the Russian Far East, the following activities are intended on the island:
