May 16, Deputy Prime Minister - Plenipotentiary Representative of RF President in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev, began his three-days working visit to Japan. The Governor of Khabarovsk Krai, Vyacheslav Shoprt is also a part of the Russian Delegation. In Tokyo they will meet representatives of Cabinet of Japan and heads of major corporations.
As Mr. Governor informed, in the course of the visit he intends to discuss a progress of joint projects implementation.
“We have several promising areas of cooperation. One of them is reconstruction of Khabarovsk airport. Here is where we work with “Sojitz” Corporation, which planes to become one of the investors. Together with Public SCJ “Khabarovsk Airport” we are going to coordinate all the details of the Japanese company entering the project. We are also going to meet Honorary President of “JGC Corporation”, Mr. Yoshihiro Sigehisoy. He has recently visited Khabarovsk to be at the opening of the greenhouse complex. In Tokyo we will continue discussing our plans concerning expansion of the vegetables production project”, - noticed Vyacheslav Shoprt.
Today Russian Delegation is leading negotiations with “Sojitz” and “Marubeni”. On the second half of the day there will be a round table with Russian and Japanese metallurgy and energy companies working with the Far East. In a dialogue there will be engaged such corporations as “Kolmar”, “Alrossa” and Japanese “Sumitomo”, “JFE Steel”, “Mitsubishi Chemical” and other.
Also today Mr. Yuri Trutnev will hold negotiations with Chairmen of the Board of Directors of Japanese Association for Economic Cooperation with Russia and Newly Independent States (ROTOBO) and the President of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Mr. Shigeru Murayama. Besides that there is a scheduled meeting with the Deputy Secretary-General of Japanese Cabinet, Mr. Hiroshige Seko.
In the framework of the visit scheduled are official meetings with Japanese Minister of Economy, trade and industry, Moto Hayashi, and meetings with leadership of “JGC Corporation” and “Mitsui” as well.
